At Danson House we thought that February was a month in which people would need cheering up! What better way to beat the winter blues than with a hearty two-course hot meal in the charming tea room at Danson?
Join us as we offer fine, home cooked food that will certainly put a smile on your face. Pre-booking for these lunches is essential. Tables can be booked for 12.30pm or 1pm. Choice of lunch must be selected at the time of booking. Deposit of £5 per person required when booking. Balance paid on the day. Doors open at 12.15pm.
Every guest at the Winter Warmers lunches will receive a voucher for 2 for the price of 1 entry to Danson House for use during the 2010 open season.

Tickets include a glass of wine (or juice) and a mince pie.

Relax and enjoy the run up to the festive season with an opportunity to tour the house, decorated for a Georgian Christmas. Dine on a delicious home-made four-course Christmas meal in the delightful Breakfast Room and visit the shop stocked with distinctive ceramics, linens and other gifts, hand selected for their quality.
Pre-booking for these lunches is essential. Christmas lunches are VERY popular so please book early to avoid disappointment. Tickets for all festive events will be on sale from 1st June 2010. Murder at Danson House!

After the success of last year’s Murder Mystery at Danson House we will be hosting one again this November.
Be transported back to the 1920s for a mystery, where a shocking, dastardly deed unfolds before you.
Become a super sleuth who’s fully involved in the investigation or sit back and relax as others do the work during an exclusive three course meal served in the beautiful Georgian Dining Room.
The morals of the 1920s are not all that they might be, for jealousy, greed and disregard for human life span the generations. You, and the rest of the Raymond-Burrell family, have gathered to listen to local solicitor, Timothy Walter, read the last will and testament of the late head of the family, Charles Raglan Cardigan Raymond-Burrell. All eagerly await news of the bequest. By the end of the evening, however, the chief beneficiary lies in a pool of blood. Are they the most recent victim of the infamous Raymond-Burrell curse, or are there more sinister motives afoot?
Dress code: Lounge suit or come in 1920s costume to add to the atmosphere!
Tickets include: the champagne reception, three course meal (see menu below) and white wine and juice on the table.

Starter: Mediterranean vegetable tart.
Main Course: Chicken fillet in a creamy tarragon and grape sauce, with seasonable vegetables.

Come and be inspired to make the most of seasonal flowers at Danson House. Our flower arranging experts will be demonstrating all new, traditional and contemporary flower designs, with an eye to current trends, creating practical arrangements to suit every home. Plus a chance to enter the raffle to win one of the demonstrator’s creations to take home with you.
A limited number of tickets for the demonstration only are available for £11 per person (no tour included).
Order for the day for all Demonstrations with Lunch:
Arrive at Danson at 11am for coffee, followed at 11.30am by the demonstration. Lunch will be served at 1pm, with coffee. At 2.30pm there will be a guided tour of the house. The gift shop, stocked with excellent gifts and books will remain open until 4pm.

Free entrance to Danson House
After the success of the Open House scheme at Danson in 2009 and 2010 we are again offering free entrance to the historic house to celebrate the capital’s largest architectural showcase.
As Danson is so new to the scheme it will be hugely popular on 18th September. Please be prepared to queue to enter the house and use the tearoom.

Chapterhouse Theatre Company

Relax into a lazy summer’s evening of delightful entertainment as Chapterhouse Theatre Company transports you to the sleepy Victorian town of Cranford. Based on Elizabeth Gaskell’s classic novel, this brand-new adaptation of Cranford will bring a smile to young and old alike as the adventures and dramas of life in the countryside are brought to the picturesque gardens at Danson House.
Enjoy the open-air performance in the private landscaped gardens at Danson. Bring a low backed chair or rug to sit on and a picnic to enjoy before or during the performance. Refreshments including hot and cold drinks, wine and snacks will be available to buy on the night.
Tickets available late spring and advance booking is strongly advised, although in some cases tickets may be available on the night. Please telephone in advance to check. Tickets will not be posted out. They can be collected in advance from the box office at Hall Place, Bexley or from Danson House on the night.
Adults £12. Concessions £10.
Children (5-16 years) £8. Under 5s free.
